Therapeutics is constantly engaged in clinical trial
investigation of low level laser therapy (LLLT) on a number of
conditions such as smoke cessation and developing additional protocols as part of pretrial
investigations. Two of our lasers, the Omega XP and the MediCom Maestro
are FDA cleared for certain pain conditions. Please see our 510(k)

A
low powered laser procedure does not cut or burn
into the skin or affected areas-it stimulates the cells and tissue and
promotes healing by penetrating deep into the tissues initializing the
process of photo biostimulation. The patient normally feels no discomfort related
to the procedure. The light energy from the low level laser is absorbed
in cytochromes and porphyrins within cell mitochondria and cell
membranes. A small amount of Singlet Oxygen is produced as a result of
the absorption.
This is combined with a number of other factors to produce the results
demonstrated in many clinical study cases. Each case is
different and the program utilized varies with the severity on the
condition. In many instances, a review of the literature indicates
that low level laser therapy may be a viable alternative to surgery. If
